The brand’s showcase, the Lavender Museum
The tale of « Le Château du Bois » continues with the creation of a museum dedicated to Provence fine lavender. The Lavender Museum (Le Musée de la lavande®) is located in Coustellet in the Luberon region, near Avignon.
Creation of a lavender museum in 1991
Since its inauguration in June 1991, this cultural and tourist attraction welcomes nearly 50,000 annual visitors from all over the world. The traditional Provence dry-stone building, surrounded by lavender, is a pleasant and authentic place to visit.
A surprising collection
The museum was a success from the moment it opened. The incredible collection of red copper stills, dating from the 16th century to the present, recounts the saga of fine lavender distillation in Haute-Provence. Distillation, the wonderful alchemy that delicately extracts the essences of flowers to create essential oil, is no longer a secret for the devotees of fine lavender. Let yourself be transported by the virtues, perfume and quality of this exceptional essential oil.
The boutique, the emblem of « Le Château du Bois »
In the heart of the Luberon, the Museum shop is emblematic of « Le Château du Bois », symbolising its land, mission, image and values. It is also a showcase for its growing world-wide reputation.
